Thanks for your response. I really liked your idea of breaking down the assessment techniques in order to exactly pin point the boys difficulty in Math. It's all about asking questions like you said; asking why, how and what. This way the teacher and assistant will be able to pick out the problem and be able to help the boys learn successfully in the exact areas they need help rather than trying a broad range of techniques that may not even help the students and may do the reverse and hinder their learning. I have had many instances in my practicums where there were techniques and methods applied to students that were quite broad due to many unknowns. However, as the relationship between the teacher and the student built, it was much easier to accommodate for the student and address it directly. Thanks for your insights and thoughts.
